Coco Zhao- vocals Enrolled by Shanghai Conservatory of Music and majored in composition in 1993, Coco studied under professor Zhao Xiaosheng. At first studying Chinese traditional music he started dedicating himself to the study of modern music, especially jazz. In 1997, Coco had the great honor of co-operating with world famous jazz vocalist Betty Carter at her performance at the International jazz festival in Shanghai. Since 1994 famous jazz festivals in France, Holland, Spain, England, Switzerland, Thailand, and Hong Kong had invited him to perform. In 1997 he was invited by Partisan Radio station Europe One to appear in a jazz music program entitled “La Boite de Jazz”; meanwhile performing in multiple renowned jazz bars in Paris. The local media described him as “ The Boy Billy Holiday from China”. During a stay in Germany, Coco performed and studied with Udo Lindenburg, Axel Zwingerberg, and Vince Weber. Recently Coco’s band entitled “Possicobilities”, were featured at the Montreal International Jazz Festival in June of 2006 in Canada, with an attendance of over 15,000 people. |

Peng Fei- violin Peng Fei graduated with the highest distinction from Shanghai Conservatory of Music on classical violin performance(2000), the Royal Brussels Music Conservatory majored in jazz performance and composition (2002) and the Royal Conservatory of THE HAGUE with whom studied from saxophonist John Ruocco(2003). He also wrote the theme songs and dubs for the advertising of many international brands, TV commercials, documentaries, TV dramas, and movies. He has been invited as a performer and a director at places such as: 2002- German Castal Jazz Festival, 2003- Macau International Jazz festival (with jazz great Eugene Pao), 2005- Singapore Art and Chinese festival, 2005- Hong Kong international art festival (All that Shanghai jazz), 2005- Hong Kong International Jazz festival (Coco Zhao/Peng Fei), 2006- Malaysian Miri international Jazz Festival (All that Shanghai Jazz), 2006- Canadian Montreal International jazz Festival (Possicobilities) |

Huang Jianyi- piano Primarily Huang Jianyi was a music educator, art director, and accompanist in the string and wind department of the Shanghai Conservatory of Music. In 1999 he founded Footprint jazz band, which was active in the grand jazz scene. He also studied jazz piano at the Berklee College of music, U.S.A, with greats such as Paul Schmeling, Ray Santisi, Joanne Brackeen, Lasfzlo Gardony, and Joe Lovano. Currently he is completing his master’s degree in jazz piano performance at Rutger’s University where he studies with legends Stanley Cowell, Victor Lewis, Ralph Bowen, and Conrad Herwig. He has also performed in the most sought of jazz bar “blue note” in New York City. |

E.J. Parker- bass E.J. Parker began playing bass at the age of fifteen in Cleveland, Ohio. During high school E.J. played at many of the top jazz clubs in town. After high school Parker won a scholarship to attend The Dana School of music, where he majored in jazz performance under the direction of Tony Leonardi. While in college E.J. performed with the likes of Kenny Burrell, Cyrus Chestnut, and Joanne Brackeen. After college Parker toured with the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra. After some time on the road E.J. returned to freelancing, teaching jazz clinics, and doing recording sessions for all genres of music. Currently E.J. lives in Shanghai, China; here he has worked at The House of Blues and Jazz, as well as many other clubs performing all styles of music. During this time he also performed at the first international jazz fest in Helsinki, Finland. |

Chris Trzcinski- drums Chris began studying drums at the age of ten, and started his professional career at fourteen playing with local jazz musicians and various big bands. He then moved on to study music at the Dana School of Music where he developed his strong sensibility for music and art. After college Chris started performing and touring with numerous acts. In this time, he has shared the stage with the likes of: Ira Sullivan, Kenny Burrell, Buddy Morrow, Dick Johnson, and Frankie Avalon; and groups such as: The Tommy Dorsey Orchestra, Cleveland Philharmonic Orchestra, and The Living Sound Ensemble. Aside from live performance, Chris has also made appearances on over 20 different Rock, Pop, and Jazz recordings; some of the more recent include: HuYanBin (Famous Chinese pop singer), Andy Hunter Quartet (Jazz), Coco (Chinese jazz songs), and 24hrusa (Rock). Chris currently resides in Shanghai, China. |

Coco Zhao- vocals ココ・ジャオ 1977年、中国湖南省生まれ。中国伝統劇の音楽家を両親に持ち、16歳で中国最高の音楽家養成機関、上海音楽学院に入学。西洋古典音楽専攻。17歳の時ジャズと出逢い、在学中にプロのジャズシンガーとして活動を開始する。その歌声は世界のメディアも注目し、各国領事館やルイヴィトン、ヴィダルサスーン等のイベントに招聘され、クリントン元アメリカ大統領訪中の際にもステージを披露した。 海外のジャズアーティストとの共演や海外でのステージも多い。20歳(‘97)の時、上海国際ジャズフェスティバルでベティ･カーターと共演。パリでは「中国のビリー･ホリデー」と地元メディアが賞賛した。その後、フランスでの再演を始め、オランダ、スペイン、ロンドン、チューリヒ（スイス）、ドイツ、バンコク（タイ）、クアラルンプール（マレーシア）、等、世界各国のフェスティバルに招聘される。 2005年に結成したバンド、Possicobilities は、モントリオール･ジャズフェスティバルに 中国人アーティストとして初参加を果たし、15,000人もの聴衆を沸かせた。2007年は、マレーシア、シンガポール、モントリオール等への招聘が決定している。 Possicobilities のファーストアルバム「Dream Situation 夢境」はカナダ版と中国版を発行。1930年代頃の上海ジャズを現代的にアレンジした曲を中心に、中国情緒溢れる全9曲。2007年2月と3月にはANA（全日空）の国際線機内音楽として取り上げられる。 独自の世界を追及し作詞・作曲も手がける、21世紀の中国音楽をリードするボーカリスト。 |

Peng Fei- violin パン・フェイ 1978年、中国遼寧省生まれ。中国最高の音楽家養成機関、上海音楽学院でクラシックバイオリンを学び、優秀な成績を収め卒業する。その後、ジャズバイオリンを学ぶために、ブリュッセル王立音楽院（2002年）及びハーグ王立音楽学院(2003年）に留学。帰国後は上海を拠点にジャズバイオリニストとして活躍する一方、音楽プロデューサーの顔も持ち、資生堂、トヨタ、コカコーラを始めとする有名ブランドのCMやドラマ、ドキュメンタリー音楽の作曲、編曲を数多く手がける。 海外のフェスティバルに招聘される機会も多く、ドイツ、マカオ、香港、シンガポール等を経て、2006年夏はPossicobilitiesとしてモントリオール･ジャズフェスティバルに中国人アーティストとして初参加を果たす。確かなテクニックを持ちながら、情緒豊かに中国伝統音楽の要素も表現するオリジナリティ溢れる演奏で観客を魅了した。 |

Huang Jianyi- piano ホアン・ジエンイー 1974年、中国上海生まれ。ジャズピアニストであると同時に、上海室内管弦楽団奏者、アートディレクター、教育者と様々な顔をもつ。 上海音楽学院卒業後、98年から03年まで同大学で教鞭を執る。その後、バークレー音楽大学に留学し、Paul Schmeling、 Ray Santisi、 Joanne Brackeen、 Lasfzlo Gardony、 Joe Lovanoに師事。 2005年以降は、ニュージャージー州立ラトガース大学の修士課程に在籍し、Stanley Cowell、 Victor Lewis、 Ralph Bowen、Conrad Herwig という一流のジャズアーティスト達のもとで研鑽を積んでいる。 ニューヨークのブルーノートでも演奏を披露。 2007年夏に修士を修め上海に戻った後の活躍が期待される。 |
